In just a week Thanksgiving will be upon us. It made me consider the questions, “Are most us truly thankful? If so, to whom?”
As Christians, we should be the most thankful people of all. Why? God’s gift of our Savior, Jesus Christ is the reason why. I don’t remember who said it, but I remember the quote: “All appropriate worship begins and ends with doxology (praise).”
Thanksgiving is a form of worship. Clearly we should be thankful for our blessings such as our freedom and our peaceful shores. But eternal life, given freely by God’s grace through faith in Christ alone should be the single greatest reason for our thankfulness. This is the greatest blessing, the greatest gift, we will ever know and it should fill us with great joy!
I hope your joy is plentiful this holiday season and in every season for that matter. 1 John 1:3-4 says, “We proclaim to you what we have seen and heard, so that you also may have fellowship with us. And our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son, Jesus Christ. We write this to make our joy complete.”
PRAISE HIM, SHARE HIM, LOVE HIM!
God Bless,
Pastor Bill
