This Sunday I’ll be introducing a new song! It’s called “The Passion” by Hillsong. This is a great song that helps us impress Gospel realities in our hearts and souls. I think specifically of verse 2.
“The Innocent judged guiltyWhile the guilty one walks freeDeath would be His portionAnd our portion liberty.”
We experience freedom and liberty from sin by trusting in the innocent one, Jesus, who tasted death in our place. What an amazing truth. How do we respond to such love?
“I give my whole lifeTo honor this loveBy the Lamb who was slain, I’m forgiven. The sinner’s SaviorCrown Him foreverFor the Lamb who was slain, He is risen!”
What thanks and praise could we possibly give that even seems remotely worthy in comparison to what Christ has done for us? Nothing really. Though Christ made a once for all sacrifice, we can’t just give a one time thank you. We owe Christ all we are and all we have, for He alone is worthy.
“Worthy is the Lamb who was slain, to receive power and wealth and wisdom and might and honor and glory and blessing!” – Revelation 5:12
